OFFICE HOURS Sierra Neurosurgery is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
ABOUT YOUR INITIAL APPOINTMENT MAKE SURE YOU COME TO THE CORRECT OFFICE. Please arrive 45 minutes early for your initial appointment to see Dr. Sekhon. This allows for sufficient time to complete all of the necessary paperwork.
For your visit, you should bring copies of your previous x-rays, CT scans, and MRIs so the surgeon can review them. They can be either on CD or films. Although you should also bring the report, the report alone is not adequate for surgical planning the films are also required. Previous consultation letters and electrodiagnostic (EMG) reports should also be brought if they are available. REFERRALS & MANAGED CARE PLANS Some health plans have specific rules you must follow in order to be seen by a specialist. If your health insurance company requires authorization from a primary care physician, remember that it is YOUR responsibility to provide us with the necessary authorization information and documents. You must have this authorization information with you during your initial appointment to be seen by the doctor. IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL, BE CONSIDERATE OF OTHERS If you have to cancel an appointment, please call us as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. This enables another patient, who may be in pain, to have your time slot. ABOUT HEALTH INSURANCE Sierra Neurosurgery Group accepts most insurance plans. Please call our office at 775-323-2080 to find out if your plan is accepted. If your health insurance plan requires you to pay a “co-pay” amount, you will be expected to pay that amount when you visit Sierra Neurosurgery Group. PRESCRIPTIONS & REFILLS The use of prescription drugs is a very serious issue, and we are required to manage the process carefully. Consequently, prescriptions and refills will be issued only during office hours. Please call 48 hours in advance.
